Fanúšikovia futbalového Feyenoordu Rotterdam, ktorí robili problémy už po príchode do Ríma na zápas šestnásťfinále Európskej ligy proti AS, sa dopúšťali výtržnosti aj krátko pred začiatkom stretnutia.

Skupina niekoľkých stoviek agresívnych Holanďanov, z ktorých bola väčšina pod vplyvom alkoholu, zaútočila v Ríme na policajtov svetlicami, fľašami a ďalšími predmetmi. Výsledkom je niekoľko zranených mužov zákona a 33 zatknutých fanúšikov.

Podľa odhadov polície prišlo do Ríma asi 6000 podporovateľov Feyenoordu. Incidenty sa odohrávali na rôznych miestach Večného mesta. Rozbesnení fanúšikovia poškodili aj nedávno zrekonštruovanú Fontanu della Barcaccia.

„Niečo podobné nie je možné tolerovať,“ vyhlásil starosta Ríma Ignazio Marino. Fanúšikovia holandského klubu patria medzi radikálnych a sú často iniciátormi konfliktov a výtržností.
