Úspešnosť pri hľadaní obetí sa zvýšila i napriek veternému a daždivému počasiu

Necelý týždeň od pádu lietadla malajzijského dopravcu AirAsia do Jávskeho mora sa počet nájdených obetí zvýšil na 30, pričom niektoré z nich boli stále pripútané ku sedačkám. Podľa oficiálnych zdrojov pátracie skupiny v piatok vytiahli z vody 21 tiel, zatiaľ čo štyroch mŕtvych vrátane jedného zo stevardov a 12-ročného chlapca medzičasom identifikovali a odovzdali pozostalým.

Na mnohých z najnovších nálezov má zásluhu vyslaná loď amerického vojenského námorníctva. V oblasti pri ostrove Borneo sa nachádzajú taktiež plavidlá z Indonézie, Malajzie a Singapuru, ktorých posádky prehľadávajú morské dno v snahe lokalizovať vrak airbusu a takzvané čierne skrinky. Úspešnosť pri hľadaní obetí sa zvýšila i napriek veternému a daždivému počasiu typickému pre monzúnové obdobie.

Lietadlo typu Airbus A320-200 so 162 cestujúcimi a členmi posádky zmizol v nedeľu počas letu z indonézskej Surabaye do Singapuru. Okrem Indonézanov boli na palube aj traja Juhokórejčania, Singapurčan, Malajzijčan a Brit ako aj kopilot s francúzskym občianstvom. Krátko predtým, ako dispečeri s lietadlom stratili kontakt, piloti žiadali o zmenu výšky pre nepriaznivé počasie, vzhľadom na hustú premávku však nedostali povolenie. Airbus bol v tom čase približne v polovici letu. Prinajmenšom jedno z nájdených tiel malo na sebe záchrannú vestu, čo vyvoláva nové otázky o tom, ako sa nehoda odohrala.
